Why practise yoga at the office?

Inspire and encourage a healthy culture for the workplace by hosting corporate yoga classes for your employees. Having friendly yoga classes on site at the office makes it easily accessible, even if you are having a busy day.

Take the opportunity to reverse the effects of sitting at your desk all day with a regular yoga practice. Learn how to prevent common injuries and improve back/neck/shoulder tension often experienced by office workers. In addition to the physical benefits of practising postures, yoga and meditation have been proven to reduce stress and improve focus and mental clarity. Your body will feel more mobile and the mind refreshed to complete the work day after a session of yoga.

How will classes be structured?

Choose between a 45 or 60 minute lesson in a private or small group setting.

Private classes will be tailored to the individual and their specific set of circumstances. The first lesson will begin with an assessment and subsequently a customised sequence of postures designed for the individual. Progression will be offered as I assess the student's practice week to week. Please refer to Private Classes for more information.

Corporate group classes will be customised to suit the condition of the majority of students in the group with modifications offered to staff who require individual attention. I will monitor the practice of the group and teach progressions either as a group or individually as appropriate. All classes will be a well-rounded practice, with yoga postures that are specifically beneficial to those who sit at a desk for work.

Each class will conclude with a short relaxation/meditation, to encourage stillness of the mind before you return to your desk.

A note about safety...

Corporate yoga classes sizes are limited at a maximum of 6 students to ensure that appropriate individual attention can be given to each student.

A form will be circulated to private students several days prior to the first class requesting details about past and current injuries, health condition and any special concerns. Please note all information is kept strictly confidential. Although corporate yoga group classes will be structured for the general group condition, modifications to poses will be provided to students on an individual basis according to their level of practice and if any injuries exist.

If you have an injury or are recovering from an injury of a more serious nature, please book a private lesson rather than a group lesson so that I can ensure you have a safe and effective class.

Please ensure that you don't eat right before class.

What do I need to provide or bring?

All equipment is provided, however students are welcome to bring their own mats if preferred. For your reference, I use 6mm eco-friendly, non-toxic mats, cleaned after every class. It is recommended to wear clothes that allow freedom of movement, however no special clothes are required (eg. simple t-shirt/tank top and shorts/leggings/loose pants would be appropriate).

You will need to organise a room for the class - usually a small meeting room is sufficient for a private class, or conference-style room for a group class. Please move aside desks and chairs prior to class to enable setup.
